condo for sale

This post provides five practical condo staging tips that can be tacked by sellers before contacting Sandra Best Decor.

The current market of the Greater Montreal Area is saturated by condos old and new.

If you are selling a older condo unit, think about the fact that you are in direct competition with newer models where buyers get to choose their own finishes & materials. Think about ways to refresh and update your unit.

If you are selling a new unit, the square footage tends to get smaller & smaller! But fret not; space can be optimized to its full potential without a lot of work and even on a limited budget. There are many simple ways to jazz up your condo without adding square footage like using paint to focus on a particular area or to create the illusion of a larger space. A can of paint costs as little as $30 a gallon and can transform your space.

When putting your condo on the market there are many simple tasks that can change your home from ordinary to extraordinary. It doesn’t take much to make a big impact, but here are some tried and true condo staging tips I’ve learned along the way that will be sure to help you:

1.Clear The Counters

Clutter on the counters is a big no-no. Not only does it look messy but it also makes the room much smaller in appearance. Pretty much everything, your coffee maker, toaster, knives, everything should be taken off counters. A nice vase with colorful, fragrant flowers or fruits is your best option. What are you supposed to do with the items you use daily? I suggest using your mini appliances in the morning and putting them in storage bin that you can place in one of your wardrobes! That goes for the bathroom too! Clear personal hygiene products such a toothpaste, toothbrush etc. Use a mini bin that can slide under your bed!

2.Purchase a beautiful new shower curtain

Bathrooms are small, and a really pretty shower curtain can make a big impact. Ensure that your counters are clear in the bathrooms too. Add fresh flowers and nice, wimple white towels and you’re done.

3.Bedding is always Best

The easiest way to spruce up the master bedroom is by adding some gorgeous new bedding and accent pillows.  Again, because the space is so small, new bedding will make a huge impact on the overall look of the room.

4.De-Clutter

Most living room condos have way too much stuff. The best thing to do is de-clutter like you have O.C.D! Get rid of books, vases, personal pictures and store them.  The goal with de-cluttering a small space is to create as much visual space as possible and allow any potential buyer to imagine themselves in the condo.

5.Don’t Forget the Flooring

5 Practical Condo Staging Tips

Make sure your floors are in good state and add a nice rug in the living room to pull everything together.

Most condos are open concept so the best advice is to keep it simple. When in doubt contact a home staging specialist like me. An expert is emotionally detached from the home and will help you make the best decisions to appeal to the greatest amount of buyers.
