As a parent, I am always looking for ways to display my kid’s artwork—that mountain of creativity; drawings, paintings, collages from home and from day care. I think my son’s artwork deserves a special display, but more often than not it ends up in a pile along with some good intentions or on the darn fridge! Um, speaking for myself here, but from what I hear, I’m not the only one.

Forget the fridge! See my latest idea and find some inspiration on how to display children’s art around your home that honors their creativity, looks good!

I tried the framing option but that was overwhelming, I tried to hang them but it felt messy to me.

But then I had the brilliant idea of creating a collage with all the art work my son has done so far and I’d love to share it with you.

For the collage you’ll need:

  1. A Canvas of the size you need (I chose a 48×60 inch size to fit all the stuff I accumulated in the last 3 years!)Displaying Children's Artwork
  2. Modge Podge (I went with the glossy type but you can also choose a mat finish)Displaying Children's Artwork
  3. A medium size brush

4. Your children’s art work (p.s, you can also put pieces of fabric that is special to your child)

Instructions

  1. Place your canvas on a flat surface and layout your art until your satisfied with the look

2. Remove each piece of art, apply modge podge to the canvas, an place your art on top of the glue. Do this for each pieces until the whole canvas is filled.

3. Let dry overnight

4. Apply a tick layer of modge poge on top of the whole canvas

5. Let dry again

I was able to get every single piece of art from the last 3 years and it looks great!

Furthermore, when my son came back home and saw it he was really proud!
