I love this time of the year. Though it’s cold outside, all the lights and decorations warms my heart. I also love to imagine my toddler making joyful exclamations as he sees the Christmas lights… I’ll tell you about that in a bit but first the decor:
We always go with blue (me and my husband’s favorite color), but then we add a contrasting color. I write different colors on little pieces of paper and put them in a bowl and pick one randomly! We’ve done, blue and black, blue and red, blue and silver and this year….
Blue and Gold
Outdoor
I installed a string of blue Christmas lights on the balcony. We chose a simple wreath but added a big blue ruban that stands out. Also we removed our summer planters and added a pot with pine branches, red branches and some Christmas ornaments.
Main Entrance
I drew inspiration from our Bulletin Board which is covered in Zebra fabric.
I found Zebra ruban that I simply installed on our mini blue feather tree
Living room
We installed our FAKE tree! Yes it’s fake because while I love real trees and the smell, I can’t stand to be cleaning pine needles from everywhere all season long, so plastic it is. And for the smell we found this. It does wonders!
As for toddler’s reaction… It wasn’t quite the joyful exclamation. All he said was: I want TV!
How about you? Will you be decorating this season, How do you pick your colors? Mainly, how do your kids react?
